Bibliography

A lifetime of musical study does not a few books make, but if you are interested, here are some of the books I have enjoyed and some of the books I used as references when creating "Fantasy Of 1811 (Resampled)".

Theory/Reference Books

bullet"The Study Of Fugue" by Alfred Mann
bullet"The Study Of Counterpoint" from J.J. Fux's "Gradus Ad Parnassum"/translated and edited by Alfred Mann
bullet"Structure & Style" Expanded Addition by Leon Stein
bullet"The Great Composers As Teacher And Student" by Alfred Mann
bullet"Masters Of The Keyboard" by Konrad Wolff
bullet"The Art Of Piano Pedaling - Two Classic Guides" by Anton Rubinstein and Teresa Carreño/Introductions by Banowetz and Mann
bullet"Learn To Read Music" by Howard Shanet
bullet"The Concise Oxford Dictionary Of Music - Third Edition" by Michael Kennedy
bullet"The Oxford Italian Minidictionary"

Music History

Note: These books are all fascinating and the biographies of Liszt contain much, much more than just his story. You get a pretty good picture of the musical history of the time and learn a great deal about Chopin, Wagner, and Brahms to name a few.  And touring and politics, etc. I highly recommending reading these books for enjoyment and I recommend reading them for scholarship.

bullet"Franz Liszt - The Weimer Years, 1848-1861" by Alan Walker
bullet"Franz Liszt - The Virtuoso Years, 1811-1847" by Alan Walker
bullet"Franz Liszt - The Final Years, 1861-1886" by Alan Walker
bullet"The Great Pianists" By Harold C. Schonberg
